Sustainability is a central component of our corporate strategy. For Schwermetall, sustainability means taking a holistic approach across environmental, social, and economic dimensions. In doing so, we consider both the protection of the environment and climate as well as social responsibility and economic stability. An interdisciplinary and cross-functional sustainability team coordinates our activities in these areas of action. The team ensures that sustainable development is integrated into all areas of the company and works closely with existing structures and processes.

The foundation of our sustainable development is systematic and structured planning. We have conducted a double materiality analysis to identify the sustainability topics that are most important for Schwermetall and our stakeholders. Based on this, a comprehensive action plan was developed, defining concrete measures across all relevant areas of action. The implementation of these measures has already started and is being continuously advanced. In doing so, we build on existing structures, in particular our established management systems, and embed sustainability aspects into our decision-making processes. In this way, we ensure that sustainable thinking is considered in all areas of our company.

Using selected projects, we demonstrate how we implement sustainability at Schwermetall across different areas in practice and continuously develop it further.
